As I sit here contemplating what to tell you about myself, I am watching a beautiful yellow butterfly and a humming bird sharing the flowering bush outside my window.  So I guess I can say, firstly, that I love nature and all it's creatures.  Well, maybe, there are a few creatures I'm not crazy about...but only a few.  Family is important to me.  I have two fantastic sons who have given me great joy over the past many years, two wonderful daughters-in-law, two beautiful granddaughters and a grandson!  In addition to my own family, my sister and brother-in-law, their three children, spouses and children are a great blessing to me. There are, also, several dogs, cats, birds, fish, and even ferrets, in the family.

I probably don't need to tell you that painting and sketching are a high priority in my life.  I have spent my entire life wondering what I wanted to be when I grew up.  And I can tell you, finally, in my age of retirement...though I have yet to grow up...I have discovered that I have always wanted to be an artist!

But, in addition, I play the Native American flute, some piano and, in the past, I have played the guitar - just can't get the old fingers to toughen up anymore.  I find that the flute has a mesmerizing sound and is extremely therapeutic.  I would encourage anyone to try it.  The Native American flute is simple enough to learn so that you can tease from it the most beautiful of melodies.   I am certain there are many reputable flute makers, but my flutes come from High Spirit Flutes in Patagonia AZ - www.HighSpirits.com - and I have been more than pleased with the workmanship of the flutes, with the instructional depth of the website which includes MP3's of most flutes so that you can hear the tone of its key, as well as with the friendly and professional customer service that I have experienced.

I love to meditate.  Years ago, I could worry with the best - over anything and everything that, in the long run,  I couldn't control anyway!  Meditation has helped me put life into perspective and place my faith in the proper channels.  I am an avid fan of Yoga, a Reiki practitioner,  and one of my great enjoyments is Tai Chi.

Although I paint in color, I have become deeply involved in, and motivated by, an organization called "Love Has No Color".  It is a small step in a large picture to help end the extreme hopelessness of the children on one Native American Reservation in northeastern Montana.  To this end, I am donating 10% of my proceeds to this wonderful cause.  Please take a moment to check out their website - www.savethereservation.org - and learn how a group of chiropracters are making a difference in the lives of these children.  I am sure you are bombarded by requests from many worthwhile programs to alleviate the third world conditions throughout Africa, central America and southeast Asia, but so many of us are unaware that these conditions exist right in our own backyard!
